OKLAHOMA GOLD RUSH GRAND PRIX

The Oklahoma Gold Rush Grand Prix is a three-day offroad racing event that gathers all motorcycle, ATV, and SXS enthusiasts annually on the First weekend of November.

The event is held at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, Oklahoma.

Since 1995.

Riders take on our 1.5 miles of asphalt racetrack plus over 10 miles of dirt trails at the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. The asphalt section has a 10-turn road race course with over 80 feet of elevation changes. This is the same course that features CMRA motorcycle road racing and SCCA car racing with clocked racers going up to 100 MPH.

Our local Porsche™, Shelby™, and Ferrari™ clubs also use our tracks for racing and car shows. Our racetrack facilities include indoor restrooms, indoor restaurant Finish Line Cafe where you can sit down or take out from the counter, and asphalt roads that run through pits and running water.

Family-Oriented Event

Ok Gold Rush Grand Prix is open to road racers, flat trackers, motocross racers, and cross-country racers. We are also encouraging you to bring your whole family to the event. Get to see the whole family race in the same event with our parent-child team competition. We also offer classes for the whole family and all levels of riders. Overnight camping is available with an additional $30 gate fee. Professional digital photo packages are available to purchase on 1st floor of tower. Come be part of our great community!

History

OK Gold Rush started in 1995 at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit with 90 motorcycle riders and about 150 spectators. Within a couple of years, ATVs were added to the event. The event gained momentum, attracting 300 riders and about 500 spectators. In 2009, SXS (side by sides) classes were added. We saw 788 racers and over 2,000 spectators attend the event in 2010. The following year, we had over 800 riders and about 3,000 spectators.

Race Inspirations

OK Gold Rush Grand Prix is patterned after the Elsinore Grand Prix, the Catalina Island Grand Prix (a race off the coast of California in the late ’40s and ’50s), the Tecate Grand Prix in Mexico, and the San Diego Grand Prix. Each of these events helped to shape the Oklahoma Gold Rush into the event it is today. In 2005, we bought 40 acres next to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for an additional six to seven miles of dirt trails. In 2007, we bought an additional 180 acres, so now we average around ten miles of dirt trails.

FAQs

Do you offer garages and race ports?

To reserve a garage or covered race port for OK Gold Rush event dates, contact Hallett Motor Racing Circuit (918) 356-4814.

Is camping allowed near the track?

Camping is allowed near the track, and you can choose from primitive camping to 50 amp hook-ups. Contact Hallett Motor Racing Circuit to learn how to get electrical hook-ups. Bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers are available.

Will there be food?

There is an indoor restaurant located at the track tower that serves breakfast and lunch 7am-4pm. The Finish Line Cafe also offers special early Friday dinner 5-7pm!

Is there any practice?

No, we never have practice for the Gold Rush event. We don’t even start laying out the track until a couple of weeks before the event. Some of the riders sign up for one of the events on Saturday, so they can get used to the track. We do not change the track between Saturday and Sunday. So if you ride both days, you will have an advantage over somebody on Sunday who didn’t race on Saturday.

I have never done this race before. How should I set up my bike or quad?

Out of an estimated 9 to 12 mile track, you only spend a little over a mile on the asphalt road course. We recommend leaving the bike set up for dirt since that’s where you are going to spend most of your time.

How many people make up a team?

There are two persons per team or you can do Ironman team.

Do you have to use the same bike in the team race?

Each person in the team race can ride their own or you can ride one; it’s completely up to you. One bike per rider.

What if it rains or the weather is bad?

We run rain or shine! Mother Nature decides the course! No refunds.
